I will never forget the day back in 1992. Summer, late afternoon I was sitting in the living room of my friend’s friend’s friend, listening to a well dressed, self-confident, smiling man drawing circles on a white board. I watched, listened and it took about 10 minutes to understand the system (at least I thought so). I was completely blown away. An amazing new world opened up for me, the world of network marketing or MLM as it was introduced.
STOP! I said to the man at the white board full with circles. I heard enough, I want to join immediately, give me the papers to sign. Wait! He answered. Nevertheless I joined the big A full with enthusiasm and I was quickly running into my first disastrous failure in MLM.
I am sure you know what happened. I did everything my sponsor told me to do. I invited all my friends, relatives and everybody else within 3 meters plus the neighbour’s dog, just to be refused politely or biting. (Man, it hurts…)
But I did not give up. I was absolutely sure that the MLM has vast potential for those who do it right.
To cut the long story short, it took ten years and failures in several MLM companies to reach my first remarkable income in this industry. My real success came short after I discovered the internet, where I watched how others are doing MLM successfully.
I built my first simple recruiting system (capture page + autoresponder) to promote my company (I know now, it was a mistake), started to advertise my capture page, and quickly found myself among the top producers of my company at that time.
People asked, how did I do that. I explained and showed my simple online method to everybody and made a nice secondary income from setting up and selling the system to others.
